ABOUT US

Our gym is a member of the Bob Jones Martial Arts group, which has clubs throughout Australasia. All instructors are qualified in a variety of styles and arts, as well as First Aid and Working With Children. At ZenDoKai WA Osborne Park, you will experience a fun, friendly environment that caters for people of all ages and experience - and we would love to have you join us!

Teaching Philosophy of Our School

Ultimately to create a quiet confidence.

To teach a practical, ready to use system of Martial Art in an atmosphere of care and safety.

To increase each student’s physical fitness, flexibility, strength and speed at a gradual pace.

To teach the mental aspects of Martial Arts - self control, discipline, focus and integrity.

To increase each students confidence by improving their self defence skills and mental awareness.

To train each students mind and body to withstand the rigors of Martial Arts training - thereby preparing them for any challenges that they may encounter in their daily life.

These videos are meant as a guide for those students wishing to supplement their in-class instruction. At no time should the videos be considered a substitute for quality instruction from a qualified teacher. They should be used as a training aid and reference source only. It is not appropriate, or even safe, for the student to use the techniques contained herein without having first received practical instruction from a certified person. The techniques here are very much influenced by Western Australian folk lore, policies and practices and are heavily laced with my own personal philosophies and applications. I understand that many viewers may disagree with the way I perform the various drills and Kata. I appreciate and respect those opinions, and at no time do I hold myself to be the authority on these matters. I offer these videos solely as a training aid for my personal students with the hope that I elicit an inquisitive and explorative train of thought from them and get them to question their own application. I would be only too happy to discuss with any qualified instructor, who may find some fault with them, his or her perspective with a view to enhancing my own understanding. It is my wish that all who can, should use these videos to their greatest advantage in the practice of our karate.
